Who Is E.T. Robbins?

Today, she’s a freelance advertising copywriter and feature writer working outside of Boston. She’s also a former writing instructor at Massachusetts School of Law and an independent voice-over talent. But her background is a bit non-traditional.

Ever since her fourth grade teacher congratulated her prose in front of the class, E.T. Robbins (also known as Robyn Bradley) has wanted to write.

For many years, the romance of having a dream outweighed any attempts at making it come true. In other words, despite talk of becoming a writer, Robyn took a detour after college and accepted a full-time job in radio. A job that — at first glance — had nothing to do with writing.

At WMJX, Magic 106.7, a top FM station in Boston, Robyn worked her way from programming assistant, to morning show producer, to on-air talent, to promotions director. The best part of radio? She did A LOT of writing.

Having honed her copywriting skills over eight years, Robyn decided to start her own freelance writing business in August of 2002. The thing that makes Robyn unique is that she not only knows how to write, but she also knows how the written word will sound in the mind of the reader. For eight years, making everything sound right was Robyn’s number one job at Magic.

“E.T. Robbins” is Robyn’s nom de plume. When her niece and nephew, Tesha and Jason, were learning to talk, they had a hard time wrapping their tongues around the words “Aunty Robyn.” Instead, they said “E.T. Robbins.” Robyn decided E.T. Robbins would be her pen name (Robyn, herself, was only ten-years-old at the time).

Today, Robyn works from her home office in Framingham, Massachusetts (20 miles west of Boston) where she lives with her cat / muse Dorian Gray. Robyn enjoys film, theatre, football, trips to the ocean off the Cape, and eating red Swedish fish. She is currently shopping around her first novel.
